Just north of San Luis Obispo, on California Hwy 58, you’ll find Mother Nature at her finest! Take in the spectacular display of color and light as you drive the winding road to reach the Wildflowers & Wild Animals. To either side of the road you will see a carpet with so many greens. The oak trees are alive with new growth and the hills are painted with yellow, orange, pink and purple from the vast amount and variety of wildflowers!
If the scenery isn’t enough, you will be delighted to see a herd of bison resting in the grass just feet from the road. They look cuddly, but be smart and stand clear for your selfies! I caught a glimpse of a group of birds fluttering around on the backs of a couple of horses who did not seem to mind at all.
These Bison are a part of Camatta Ranch that runs along California Highway 58 which is west of the Carizo Plain. Camatta Ranch not only hosts bison, but other exotic animals as well, such as cattle, on a 32,000-acre land.
Such a treat to spend time in nature with the Wildflowers & Wild Animals! Make your plans and enjoy!
